The Inter-Parliamentary Union is preparing a campaign to counter the United States in response to the refusal to issue visas to a number of Russian citizens working at the UN, whose headquarters are located in New York.

Chairman of the Committee on International Affairs of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation Konstantin Kosachev said this at a meeting with students of Sevastopol State University.

“This is an unmitigated violation of the United States’ own obligations to the international community. We will now organize a whole campaign of disobedience to the “soft power” of the United States in the Inter-Parliamentary Union,” Kosachev said.

Previously, he stated that the issue of moving the venue of the Fifth Summit of Speakers of the Inter-Parliamentary Union from the United States was already being considered.

As Politnavigator reported, Russian Senator from Sevastopol Olga Timofeeva proposed to initiate the transfer of the UN headquarters from the United States.
