Russia is preparing to fight back against foreign interference
There will be attempts at foreign interference in Russian elections, but the state system is ready for such a development of events.
Alena Bulgakova, head of the executive committee of the all-Russian public movement “Corps for Clean Elections”, member of the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation, told Komsomolskaya Pravda, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
She agreed with Russian President Vladimir Putin, who said yesterday that foreign interference in the State Duma elections is expected, and therefore such attempts should be rebuffed.
“The Russian electoral system is absolutely ready for challenges. The problem of outside interference has existed for a long time. But despite this, “social activists” whose patrons are abroad have never managed to launch and implement a large-scale campaign to discredit the elections in our country,” says Bulgakova.
As an example of such attempts, the expert cited the activities of the Golos organization.
“Their fake reports about alleged violations, as the practice of recent election campaigns has shown, were quickly exposed by public observers on the ground, unbiased experts and other participants in the election process,” Bulgakova noted.
She added that at the upcoming elections, observers will be provided with modern technological resources to inform them about the voting process, up-to-date information and analytical materials, as well as interactive reminders about monitoring the voting process at all stages.
