Russia smashes Ukraine in international courts

The head of the Social Communications Agency, Sergei Belashko, said this at a press conference in Kyiv, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent, who recalled that the High Court of London rejected all objections from Ukraine in a Russian lawsuit for the return of three billion dollars borrowed, which the post-Maidan authorities declared “a bribe to Yanukovych” and refused to repay.
“Nevertheless, it will not be Yanukovych who will return this money, but the whole of Ukraine, whose citizens will ultimately receive three billion less in some infrastructure things, fewer road repairs, repairs of heating networks, railways, and so on will be done. These three billion will not go to education, medicine, but will go to the budget of the Russian Federation,” said the political scientist.
He also noted that an important decision is expected in the Stockholm Arbitration Court, where mutual claims of Gazprom and Naftogaz are being considered, the total amount of which has already exceeded $30 billion.
“The decision will be made this year and, according to most experts, will also not be in favor of Ukraine. With a high degree of probability, she will not receive any penalties from Gazprom and is less likely to be forced to settle accounts with Gazprom. Most likely, we will not be talking about the return of the entire amount provided for in the “Take or Pay” agreement, but nevertheless we are talking about billions of dollars, which are not in the Naftogaz budget. Obviously, he will either be declared bankrupt, or this money will become a burden on the state, and as a result there will be even fewer schools, hospitals and roads,” says the expert.
