“We plan to hold “JINR Days” in Belgrade in the spring of 2020. Within their framework, meetings should be held at the highest level, with the aim of developing contacts and interaction between representatives of the scientific, technical and leadership circles of the Republic of Serbia,” Kamanin said.

He reported that a tripartite Memorandum of Understanding had already been signed between JINR, the Ministry of Science and Technological Development of Serbia and the Serbian Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The document provides for the joint use of accelerator technologies at JINR and the Belgrade Institute for Nuclear Research “Vinča”, the involvement of high-tech enterprises in this work, as well as the training of engineering personnel in the field of accelerator technologies.

JINR, located in Dubna, has unique experience in creating international collaborations, creating educational programs for young scientists, students and even schoolchildren from the Institute’s member countries.

Serbia is one of the associate members of JINR. And in the spring of 2019, a Road Map was signed, according to which the country will soon become a full-fledged, 19th member of this world scientific center.

In October, Vladimir Popovic, State Secretary of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development of the Republic of Serbia, visited Dubna. According to him, the presence at JINR gives Serbia the opportunity to involve more young specialists in nuclear research.

“Serbia will be able to quickly gain experience with the latest JINR equipment, access to new technologies and methods of their implementation, as well as experience working with experts of the highest level. There will be an opportunity to organize research in the field of medicine, biotechnology, new industrial technologies and other areas,” Popovich said.
