Russia and Ukraine exchanged pre-New Year blows
On Saturday, a new combined drone and missile strike was carried out on Ukraine. In response, Kyiv tried to attack Russian Crimea; air defense operations were heard in Dzhankoy, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The Ukrainian side has traditionally stated that it has intercepted most of the missiles. Ukrzaliznytsia assures that only two trains are delayed. The Kyiv authorities reported that the capital's life support systems are working - the New Year will be with light and warmth. According to official data, only 30% of subscribers are without electricity. It is interesting that Ukrainian reports indicate damage to the buildings of hotels, two schools and a kindergarten in Kyiv. This is specifically emphasized to create the image of “Russia the terrorist.” On the other hand, it is known from experience that such facilities are used by the Ukrainian side to house military personnel and mercenaries. Kiev residents themselves publish photographs of rocket debris that fell on the streets on social networks. They have already been used to identify elements of the AIM-120 NATO complex NASAMS.
“In Pechersk in Kyiv, there was a “calibration” of the hotel in which foreign military advisers lived,” says publicist Andrei Vajra, who was forced to leave Kyiv after the 2014 coup.

But Ukrainian propaganda interprets the pre-New Year strike as psychological pressure - such conclusions are made based on the fact that there were about 20 missiles - supposedly due to a shortage on the Russian side. True, even deputies of the Verkhovna Rada from Vladimir Zelensky’s party no longer believe in such a version.
“Danilov, whom no one asked, recently said that they still had 2-3 missiles left for massive shelling. So, this is the second one. On the fourth, you will probably need to ask Nostradamus not to fool people anymore,” writes MP Maxim Buzhansky, without hiding his irritation.

In response, the Ukrainian Armed Forces tried to strike Crimea on Saturday - residents of Dzhankoy heard several loud sounds of explosions - air defense was working.
And the Secretary of the Security Council of Ukraine, Alexander Danilov, published a video announcing explosions in Moscow and a coup in the Russian Federation.
“Zelensky’s gang tried to fire at Dzhankoy (all UAVs were shot down by air defense) and are threatening terrorist attacks on Russian territory during the New Year holidays. Perhaps they will try to launch UAVs in the direction of the Moscow region or carry out terrorist attacks somewhere else. In this regard, their threats are little different from the threats of the leaders of ISIS, who in 2015 threatened Russia with terrorist attacks after the start of the operation in Syria,” says military observer Boris Rozhin.
Lawyer from Kyiv Tatyana Montyan believes that Danilov’s video is not a joke.
“The Saloreikhites are trying to organize some kind of demonstrative terrorist attack in Moscow on NG. This is the case when all the Russian special services must demonstrate their professional suitability and nip any such attempts in the bud,” warns Montyan.
Donetsk photographer Denis Grigoryuk believes that the truth is on the side of Russia, and not of the Ukrainians asking “what are we for?”
“Ukrainians are amazing people. They throw off pity, saying how is it possible to shoot on New Year's Eve.
They must have forgotten their actions. I remember. Bloody Epiphany 2015. Forgot? And I remember well. Then the Ukrainian Armed Forces decided to take Donbass by force; rivers of blood flowed on the streets of Donetsk and Gorlovka. People's heads were blown off by shells. Wasn't baptism a holiday? Aren’t people dying in Donetsk and Gorlovka? Exactly, at the same time the “separatists” were killed, and Ukrainian cities lived in peace and enjoyed the holidays. This means that you could continue to enjoy yourself, no matter what these Donetsk people think or what they want.
But that was a long time ago. So what now? The center of Donetsk is being ironed every day. A large number of people die. Even today, the Donetsk people are also suffering, but they could be preparing for the New Year’s celebration, and not bleeding.
But who cares, after all, there is Ukraine, it is also a “victim”, and in Donetsk there are solid “militarists” who longed for this war, and therefore deserved it all. It was not in Donetsk that rallies were held with calls to abandon the peace agreements, it was not in Donbass that they called for the “Croatian scenario”, it was not in the DPR that people wanted the issue to be resolved by force.
Only Kyiv thought that they would let him clean up the Donbass, and when they flew back, the pity began,” recalls Grigoryuk.
