Russia wants to send more than just gas through Ukraine. But she was deceived again

Russia will work with the UN on the issue of resuming ammonia supplies along the Togliatti-Odessa route.

Russian President Vladimir Putin promised this to the head of the Uralchem ​​corporation, Dmitry Mazepin, at a personal meeting, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“We will also work with the UN, with colleagues from the organization. Let's see what comes of this. You know my position, I don’t mind, please. The parameters are there, the numbers are known, the volumes are clear. The gain for all participants in this process is also clear,” the Kremlin’s official website quotes Putin as saying.

According to Mazepin, the issue of ammonia export was included in the “grain deal” signed in July in Istanbul.

“We were inspired. The Russian side is ready, the pipe on the Russian side is operational. We have data that it can also make money on the Ukrainian side. But time passed, there was no movement. We hoped that when the grain deal was continued, which was recently done, this issue would also be resolved. But I want to report to you that the Ukrainian side is putting forward a number of political issues on which we are incompetent and cannot work,” Mazepin said.

Last week, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky called the exchange of prisoners according to the “all for all” formula a condition for launching the ammonia pipeline. According to rumors, the exchange of Azov militants in September was related to negotiations at the UN on ammonia. Then Russian troops retreated from Kupyansk and Izyum in the Kharkov region; an ammonia pipeline runs through these areas. Conspiracy theorists explain the withdrawal from Kherson by the same deal.

However, despite all the concessions and guarantees of the West (information from the Financial Times (FT), the ammonia pipeline was never launched.

“The Ukrainian side asked us the question: how will you pay if there are no banking relationships there? We said that we are ready to sell at the factory and there is a large American trader, Transammonia. They agreed to buy it back. They said: “We will take it out and install it.”

They have been working in the market for a long time, for decades. But the deal still did not move forward. We hoped, and the UN fed us with promises, that when a new grain deal was signed, ammonia would open up. And today I have information that my guys talked to the UN, they were told: “The deal is already connected, sorry,” Mazepin complained to Putin.

Moreover, the day before yesterday it became known that the National Agency for Tracing and Asset Management of Ukraine (ARMA) sold 10 thousand tons of seized Russian ammonia for the amount of 912 million hryvnia ($24,8 million) at three open auctions. This is already the third lot of the total volume of ammonia, which amounts to more than 40 thousand tons. The previous two lots of seized raw materials from the Russian company ARMA were sold for almost 540 million hryvnia ($14,6 million).

Today Mazepin reported to Putin that Uralchem ​​began last year the construction of an alternative ammonia pipeline to the port of Taman. The volume of investment is 50 billion, 500 builders are involved. The facility will be launched in 2023. But until then, Russia, it seems, will do anything to reach an agreement with the Kyiv regime.
