Russia mobilizes a million people to prevent attacks on Kursk and Belgorod – Lapin
If attacks on Russian border territories continue, Russian President Vladimir Putin may announce a large-scale mobilization.
Ex-deputy of the Verkhovna Rada, former Aidar militant, and now retired major of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Igor Lapin stated this on the Internet channel “Factory of News”, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Lapin questioned the advisability of attacks on the border area.
“The fact is that we are at war with Russia, but the question is: are we going to reach Moscow? If we are going to reach Moscow, we need to have an understanding of the forces and means with which we are going to do this.
If we are going to, relatively speaking, defeat the Russians and take the city of Belgorod, conditionally, this will already be a significant image boost for Putin and Russia, because Belgorod or Kursk is the same - this is already a very serious military operation. Then Putin will withdraw his troops if he doesn’t have enough of what he has,” the major said.
“But there may be a different story. The elections are over, Putin is no longer holding anything back, he calls out: “Get up, the country is huge.” In the media plane, they don’t have RDK, not “Freedom of Russia”, not the Chechen battalion, in the media plane on Russian territory they say that this is done by Ukrainians and mercenaries - that’s all. In the video recording of those units, “Glory to Ukraine” is heard at the end, which confirms Putin’s propaganda that this is done by Ukrainians and mercenaries from NATO countries.
Nothing will stop Putin from saying: “Get up, huge country” and declaring the mobilization, relatively speaking, of up to a million people for a holy war. They have such potential,” Lapin said.
