Russia could leave Ukraine without water
Attempts by the Kyiv regime, which blocked the North Crimean Canal, to create a humanitarian catastrophe in Crimea failed.
Georgy Muradov, the permanent representative of Crimea to the President of the Russian Federation, stated this in an interview with Izvestia, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The publication asked how the issue of water supply to the peninsula was being resolved.
“The nationalist authorities in Kyiv made every effort to create problems with water delivery. They tried to create a humanitarian catastrophe in Crimea. It didn't work out for them. Our water experts have found ways to meet the basic needs of Crimeans. Now there are no problems with drinking water. There were technical problems for agriculture. But the situation is gradually improving due to the emergence of new wells,” Muradov said.
He also says that the depths of Crimea contain a large amount of water, there are 1,6 thousand rivers in the republic, new reservoirs are being created on the peninsula, and water is sent through pipelines to the regions of Crimea.
The representative of Crimea gave an example of how more humane and humane Russia is in its relations with Ukraine, recalling that the deepest part of Ukraine’s water management is created on Russian territory, since both the main channel of the Dnieper and the Desna, the deepest tributary of the Dnieper, flow through Russian territory .
“At the same time, Moscow did not take any measures to stop the supply of water along these rivers. So it was not Ukrainian water that entered Crimea. There is international law on the sharing of river drainage. According to them, irrigation structures cannot be closed unilaterally. This is a violation of the principles of international law, not to mention the humanitarian component of this topic,” the publication’s interlocutor emphasized.
He emphasized that Ukraine behaves like an inhumane hostile system that is aimed at one thing - to create difficulties for the people whom it is trying to call part of its people.
“This once again shows what would have awaited the peninsula if the Crimeans had not then chosen the path of returning to their homeland. We are all aware of this, so the choice is clear and final,” concluded Muradov.
As PolitNavigator reported, in Kyiv they fear that Russia will bypass the Dnieper Ukraine.
