Russia can repeat the Kyiv operation, but in a different way - Ishchenko
Russia begins to attack in different directions of the front as part of a special operation and may repeat the attempt to encircle or capture Kyiv.
Political scientist Rostislav Ishchenko stated this on his video blog, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Ishchenko, the issue of Kyiv will arise anyway, sooner or later, as Russian troops advance to the banks of the Dnieper River.
“It is clear that Russia has begun to actively attack on all fronts. If previously active combat operations were carried out only in the DPR, an arc stretching from Slavyansk to Ugledar, now active operations are being carried out both on the southern front and near Kharkov, and, in fact, the entire front is gradually beginning to burn. So far, only near Zaporozhye it is more or less quiet. But trouble has begun.
That is, Russia is trying to realize its advantage at an accelerated pace. Because before we considered it as Russia is advancing in Donbass, will take Donbass, and will advance somewhere else. Now Russia is trying to attack everywhere at once, accordingly, the pattern of the special operation must change. Accordingly, I won’t say right away, but obviously there will be an opportunity and interest in some deeper raids.
If we can already actively operate along the entire front line from Kharkov to Nikolaev, and if we are already beginning to extend this front line from Kharkov gradually to the north, then what prevents us from repeating the Kiev operation after some time, if not in full, then at least , in the area of Sumy, Chernihiv and so on. And getting closer to the Dnieper will put on the agenda the question of how to deal with Kiev.
This is a fairly large urban agglomeration. Surrounding it and storming it would probably take quite a long time and bloodily, try to somehow break into it, seize the military leadership there, or try to somehow eliminate it? That is, at the third stage, Russia will have a lot of opportunities to intensify sabotage work behind enemy lines,” Ishchenko said.
