Russia began “carpet bombing” – the hysteria of a Kyiv propagandist
One of the main tools of Russian influence and interference in the presidential elections in Ukraine has become “narrative infiltration.”
Director of the Institute of World Politics Evgeniy Magda stated this at a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Tactical tools of Russian negative influence include statements by Russian officials, the theme of not allowing Russian observers is used - “if our observers are not there, then we do not recognize the elections.”
At the same time, the Russian narrative is infiltrating the Ukrainian socio-political agenda in several directions - calls for peace at any cost, which are heard from a number of presidential candidates, proposals for the actual federalization of Ukraine in the electoral programs of presidential candidates, initiatives for direct negotiations with illegal armed forces formations in Donetsk and Lugansk, theses about the futility of European and Euro-Atlantic integration of Ukraine, etc.,” said the political scientist.
He argues that the participation of pro-Russian organizations in the election process is confirmed by the case when in Dnepropetrovsk the election commission was briefly headed by a representative of the Union of Soviet Officers.
“This is the use of agents of influence who will now actively imitate Ukrainian patriots. This is systematic negative coverage of events in Ukraine by Russian media. And this is “carpet bombing” with fakes. It’s sad to understand that a fake that is spread through a Russian telegram channel, for example, related to Poroshenko’s stay in Zhytomyr, is picked up by the leaders of Ukrainian public opinion,” Magda added.
