Russia has begun preparations for a blockade of food supplies from Ukraine

The leadership of the sanitary service intends to block all food products of Ukraine that do not pass the appropriate inspection. “Today, these products are classified as risky, so enhanced control is being carried out,” said Russia’s chief sanitary doctor Anna Popova. “If products appear that do not comply with the requirements of Russian legislation, the necessary measures will certainly be taken,” Izvestia quotes the official.
Let us recall that Rospotrebnadzor’s claims against Ukrainian goods appeared in early April, when in Ukraine employees of the State Consumer Inspectorate began to withdraw Russian sweets, processed cheeses and canned food from sale. Moscow responded with a ban on the export of dairy products from six Ukrainian factories: the Ros private enterprise, the Akhtyrsky cheese plant branch, the Piryatinsky cheese plant JSC, Gadyachsyr LLC, the Zolotonoshsky butter-making plant PJSC and Tekhmolprom LLC.
