This was reported by the Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry of Ukraine.
“The need arose due to the shutdown of nuclear power plant units. From 7 o’clock we receive 600 megawatts of technical assistance from Russia,” said a ministry official.
According to a source in the Ministry of Energy, in previous days Russia did not supply energy to Kyiv. “There were only cross-flows,” he emphasized.
According to the Ministry of Energy, electricity consumption in Ukraine has increased due to high temperatures and the widespread use of air conditioners. Against this background, some nuclear power plant units are under repair, and the operation of the South Ukrainian NPP is limited due to a lack of cooling capacity. Also, from the beginning of June, coal supplies from Donbass stopped.
