In the first quarter, forces and assets are being built up on the line of combat contact in each direction. Strategic reserves are being built up and prepared. It is strategic reserves not to counteract NATO countries in the western direction, but namely the Russian-Ukrainian war. These formations will be completed and somewhere at the end of the 1st half of the year, by August they will be ready to conduct combat operations... This is the ground component. But during the same period, in the 1st quarter, they were conducting a full-fledged classic air operation. At the initial stage, it involved the destruction of air defense systems, airfields, in March they began to hit the energy structure, and now the gas one... If the energy industry - trains, cargo transportation, military transportation - are all carried out by electric traction. No one is doing this now to put steam locomotives there, as they did under Chapaev. That's why they knock it out. Why is this being done? So that we cannot bring up and transport our strategic reserves,” Starikov said.
