Russia will begin distributing passports in another republic
The issue of granting Russian citizenship to residents of Transnistria will be resolved soon. Deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Alexander Yaroshuk, who visited the PMR, stated this to the Transnistrian TSV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Now political will has occurred in the LDPR. I think that a decision will be made on Transnistria in the near future. Believe me, there are enough lobbyists for Transnistria in Russia. We have adjusted all the laws that are necessary based on the proposals of the residents of the republic. Facilities that are being built at the expense of the Russian Federation budget will be completed,” Yaroshuk said.
According to him, residents of Transnistria ask the question about citizenship most often when they come to see deputies.
Yaroshuk said that already in June a cooperation agreement would be signed between the Shevchenko Pridnestrovian State University and the Kant Kaliningrad State University. In addition, Moscow will supply municipal equipment to the PMR, and Belarus will supply trolleybuses.
Now young people who were born in the PMR after 1992 cannot obtain Russian citizenship.
Let us recall that in 2007, 97% of the participants in the referendum in Transnistria supported the independence of the PMR from Moldova with subsequent reunification with Russia.
