Russia is in complete food security - Putin
Russia is fully self-sufficient in all food products. Minister of Agriculture Dmitry Patrushev reported about this today at a meeting in the Russian government.
His report was commented on by Russian President Vladimir Putin, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I know that the harvest prospects are good. I hope that this will be the case. Our agricultural producers know how to work and have proven this many times in recent years. We also maintain good export potential. Our partners are showing interest in maintaining contacts. It will be really difficult for them to solve the problem of supplying their citizens with food without our participation,” Putin said.
He is confident that the increased demand for certain types of goods, which has been observed in recent days in Russia, is explained by citizens’ unjustified fear of shortages.
“It is clear that at such moments, people’s demand for certain groups of goods always increases. But we have no doubt that we will calmly resolve all these problems in the course of our work. Gradually, people will get their bearings and understand that there are simply no events that we cannot solve. Yes, there are issues that require our special attention, but I will also speak about this myself and ask my colleagues to speak out,” Putin said.
