Russia is in a pre-war state - ex-CSTO Secretary General
A “belt of instability” of Russophobic regimes is being built around Russia, which could lead to the creation of a “cordon sanitaire” around the Russian Federation or even the outbreak of war.
Nikolai Bordyuzha, Secretary General of the CSTO in 2003–2016, stated this at a press conference in Moscow, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We can state that out of 14 states of the former USSR, not counting Russia, today six are pursuing an anti-Russian course - these are the Baltic countries, Ukraine, Georgia and Moldova is being formed. In three more states there are processes that affect instability.
We face the threat of not just creating a zone of instability, but a cordon sanitaire around the Russian Federation. If we add to this, the measures that are being taken by our, as they say, “partners”: the USA and the EU, related to sanctions and information attacks.
It can be stated that we are in a pre-war state. We have a real possibility of being drawn into either a local conflict or creating a cordon sanitaire around us,” Borodyuzha noted.
