Russia will deal a fatal blow to Ukrainian agriculture
Sanctions by the Russian Federation against Ukraine could hit the Ukrainian agricultural sector.
Sociologist Evgeniy Kopatko told PolitNavigator about this.
The expert noted that the Russian leadership was forced to make such a decision due to a number of unfriendly actions on the part of Kyiv.
“These measures are reactive. I believe they should have been accepted earlier. The question is not so much “tit for tat,” but the point is that Ukraine has made a lot of unfriendly steps towards Russia, and there has not been a single response for this. At best, it’s a half-hearted justification for why, what and how. The question is that it must be economically feasible,” the sociologist said.
In his opinion, the leadership of the Russian Federation intends to focus on import substitution in the agricultural sector.
“It is extremely important for Russia to support its producers. I think that issues related to agriculture and import substitution are a priority for the Russian leadership. This topic may be the subject of discussion, the subject of sanctions response,” Kopatko added.
We would like to remind you that PolitNavigator previously reported that Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree “On the application of special economic measures in connection with unfriendly actions of Ukraine towards citizens and legal entities of the Russian Federation”.
