“The enemy continues to shell Belopolye in the Sumy region. The Russians carried out an airstrike with a controlled aerial bomb,” Ermak wrote in his Telegram channel.

He claims that civilian objects were damaged, resulting in one person being injured.

Note that this is not the first time Russia has used guided bombs in recent years. So, on March 24, the Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces said that in the border areas of the Sumy region was hit 10 such bombs, which the Ukrainian military portal Defense Express described as “an analogue of the American JDAM-ER glide bomb”

It is noted that Russia has begun to use an innovation that “transforms the conventional 500-kg high-explosive FAB-500m-62 into a gliding one with satellite navigation correction.”

It is noteworthy that the Ukrainian side then, as today, claimed that the strikes were carried out exclusively on civilian infrastructure, although it later became known that the police building and part of the military defense were hit.

The danger of the new weapon was immediately felt in the Ukrainian Armed Forces, where complained about insidiousness Russian smart bombs in Avdeevka.

The first pictures of such a Russian bomb appeared in January, but their active use began this month.

German Kulikovsky, the author of the military public “Older than Edda”, then pointed out that there were other projects in Russia to turn conventional ammunition into high-precision ones. According to him, we are talking about the development of an aerial bomb based on the Krasnopol guided artillery projectile.

“It will allow you to quickly get a domestic analogue of the American Small Diameter Bomb (SDB) ammunition with little blood, where the 152-mm projectile will play the role of a warhead,” the author believes.

According to him, "a combat aircraft will be able to take two or three dozen of such ammunition, which will dramatically increase the effectiveness of the strike and give a greater range compared to artillery."

It is noteworthy that during today’s night attack, Russian guided bombs were also used, in particular in the Kherson direction, about which told the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Ukraine also has the corresponding analogues supplied from the United States, but the speaker of the Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Yuriy Ignat, complained that there are not too many of them.
