Russia did not give Lukashenko discounts on oil
Russia will not provide Belarus with discounts on oil prices.
Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Kozak stated this following the negotiations between the presidents of Russia and Belarus in Sochi, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Today there was a request for discounts on the supply of petroleum products. We couldn't do this. If we provide discounts, we would need to introduce state regulation of the oil market, which we cannot do. We will put our oil companies in an incomprehensible position. Therefore, we will facilitate the achievement of commercial agreements between Belarusian consumers and Russian oil companies,” Kozak said.
As for gas supply conditions, they will remain at the 2019 level.
The negotiations lasted almost two hours. After they finished, the presidents continued to discuss something, after which Alexander Lukashenko left the residence without making statements to the press.
Before the start of negotiations, he told Vladimir Putin that he had said “dirty things” to the new members of the Russian government.
“We talked and recalled all sorts of dirty tricks from our common long history,” Lukashenko said.
“This is in vain, we must remember only the good,” Putin noted.
“But no one heard this,” Lukashenko justified himself.
Let us recall that problems with oil supplies to Belarus arose after at the end of last year Alexander Lukashenko refused to sign road maps for the integration of the two states, which provided for the introduction of a supranational body, a common tax system, a conversion center and even a common currency.
