Russia will not allow American commandant's offices in Donbass
The foreign ministers of France and Germany are inclined to accept the Russian option of sending peacekeepers to Donbass, that is, only to the line of contact to protect the OSCE mission.
This conclusion was made by Russian political scientist Dmitry Kulikov based on the results of the ministerial meeting in the Normandy format.
“The main thing that Lavrov said is that dreams of creating a military-political commandant’s office must be forgotten. As I understand it, Klimkin came with these dreams with the “Volcker list”. I think there were surprises. Lavrov hinted at this. He said that the French and Germans listen to our position regarding the peacekeepers,” Kulikov said on the Rossiya-1 TV channel.
He believes that the implementation of the emerging agreements will be opposed by the United States.
“The main problem is the position of the Americans, who say that it is necessary to introduce this commandant’s office and repeat the Yugoslav version with sweeps. Russia will never allow this,” the political scientist emphasized.
