Former Prime Minister and Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Evgeny Primakov stated this on Monday on the Rossiya 24 information channel.
“We have experience from Georgia, when the independence of Abkhazia and South Ossetia interferes with our rapprochement with Georgia, although we want this. But at the same time, you know, that there will be no return to the previous situation in Crimea - I believe in that. We can't do this. At the same time, obviously, there will be some search to resolve the economic situation and so on,” Primakov noted.
According to him, Russia has not yet begun a serious transformation of the Crimean economy:
“On our part, many economic measures must also be taken regarding Crimea. In our country, for example, according to our budget legislation, only in 17 we began to develop everything there except a bridge or a tunnel. We need to make the most of these two years in order to do everything to make things normal in Crimea. By the way, we have generally resolved the issue with the Crimean Tatars. We have not completely resolved this issue, but in general we have resolved this issue. Because now the situation that existed before with the Crimean Tatars no longer exists. So I think there will be stability there,” says the patriarch of Russian politics.
