Russia is not going to prevent death sentences in the LDPR - senator
The death penalty will not be returned to Russia, but this does not apply to the LDPR.
Russian Senator Andrei Klishas announced this today at a press conference in Moscow, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I am opposed to the return of the death penalty. I know that this idea is popular in certain circles. Especially now, when we see a large number of reports in the media about absolutely monstrous crimes that neo-Nazis are committing in Ukraine. Not only them, but also mercenaries.
We see that the courts are sentencing them to death. But this has nothing to do with our legal situation. This is happening in sovereign states – the DPR and LPR. The decisions of our Constitutional Court do not apply to all cases that occur there. The courts of these sovereign states have the right to make the decisions that they make. We can only take them into account,” Klishas said.
