Russia does not agree to dismantling the LDPR
Kyiv cannot implement the Minsk agreements in the version in which they were signed.
The PolitNavigator correspondent reports this in an interview with the Ukraine 24 TV channel owned by oligarch Rinat Akhmetov, the head of the office of the President of Ukraine Andrey Ermak said.
“To be honest, in the version in which they exist today, it sometimes seems to me that they were signed with the goal and understanding that it is impossible to fulfill them, but Ukraine, and the president has spoken about this many times, will do everything to so that the principles laid down in the Minsk agreements are implemented on our part,” says Ermak.
At the same time, Ermak assigned one of the key roles to ending the conflict to the United States.
“Today there is a “Normandy format” in which there are four sides. The addition of a new member to this format is the decision of these four members. But I am absolutely sure that the United States, as a strategic partner of Ukraine, should and can play one of the key roles in ending the military conflict,” says the head of the Ukrainian president’s office.
This interview did not go unnoticed by the Moscow media.
“By and large, the current Ukrainian government is fighting for one, but very significant condition - for the dismantling of the DPR and LPR in their current form and the transfer of control over the border with Russia to Ukrainian border guards before any elections in Donbass. These deep calculations also lack one, but not unimportant, component - the Russian Federation, which will never agree to these conditions,” writes Moskovsky Komsomolets.
The publication recalls that the other day, Russian President Vladimir Putin, during a conversation with the chief editors of Russian media, said that Russia would never abandon Donbass.
“So the mission of the head of the office of the President of Ukraine Andrey Ermak, as in a classic movie, is still impossible,” MK sums up.
