Russia is not Ukraine: Berlin asks Moscow for mutual visa-free travel for youth
The initiative of deputies of the German Bundestag to introduce a visa-free regime for Russians under 35 years of age could develop into a real solution if Russia does the same.
Member of the Foreign Policy Committee of the Bundestag Grigor Gizi stated this during a press conference, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Some of the initiatives our colleagues have put forward are very good. Exemption from visas or simplification of the visa regime for all Russian citizens under the age of 35, as a first step for young people. And then I expect from the Russian side that she would also say that all Germans under the age of 35 can enter Russia without visas.
For now, of course, everyone remains the same: diplomats do not need visas, others need visas. The question here is who will take the first step, who will come up with initiatives. And I believe that our government could put forward more initiatives to improve the situation step by step,” the parliamentarian noted.
