“The issue was raised regarding restrictions on the import of Ukrainian-made confectionery products into the territory of the Russian Federation.

In response, representatives of the Russian Federation (Rospotrebnadzor) emphasized that the reason for suspending the import of Roshen brand confectionery products was to prevent deceptive practices in trade, which is not related to sanitary or phytosanitary issues.

Russia also informed the WTO SPS Committee that, despite several rounds of negotiations between the competent authorities of the parties, Ukraine has not yet provided materials on measures that ensure the elimination of identified violations,” the department said in a statement.
