“Russia will not run out of steam! Nobody listens to me in TCG” - Ukrainian spy Aseev
Kyiv delegates at the negotiations in Minsk since 2015 have become accustomed to living by the mantra that Russia is about to run out of steam and the Donbass republics can be taken with bare hands, but this is not even close to the truth.
This was stated during a press conference in Kiev by Ukrainian journalist Stanislav Aseev, who was transferred to the Ukrainian side as part of an exchange and convicted of espionage in the DPR, and is now close to the Kyiv delegation in the TCG, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
He told how he took the initiative, proposed to confront the LDNR with the fact that there would be no negotiations of the political subgroup until a complete exchange of prisoners took place, that instead of the people’s militia after the “de-occupation” it is necessary to insist on the introduction of the Ukrainian police, but there was no reaction behind this shouldn't have.
“I distributed these proposals, including to Mr. Kravchuk, he said that it was very interesting, but this was already either in the summer or at the beginning of autumn 2020. There was no reaction. I can say that with rare exceptions of some people whom I respect, mostly people go there just to work.
They have no initiative, they are afraid to say something directly to the president, how things really are. And I have been hearing this since 2015, that Russia is about to run out of steam and there will be no more funding for the so-called republics, but this is completely untrue. If you don’t listen to me, at least you listened to the reports of foreign intelligence, the GRU and our special services,” Aseev complained.
