Russia did not want to give six for the West in the post-Soviet space
Russia has always been a hostile state for the West and NATO, an “aggressor” by the fact of its existence.
Russian economic expert Mikhail Delyagin stated this on TVC, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
During the discussion, Russian liberal political scientist Alexander Sytin noted that NATO is not satisfied with Russia’s claim to be one of the poles in a multipolar world.
“Is NATO hostile to Russia? Yes, definitely. Because Russia, firstly, is alien, and secondly, from the point of view of the West, aggressive, certainly barbaric. And third, most importantly, they talk a lot about the 90s and how they disappointed. They were disappointed not by the fact that they did not break up and die, but by the fact that they did not take upon themselves within the framework of the general system of guarantees of stability in the post-Soviet space.
It was necessary in 2006 not to set a course for the creation of the Eurasian Union, in 2007 not to pronounce the Munich speech. We won’t talk about 2008 and 2014. There is such a concept as “executive producer”, and so, this “executive producer” for NATO should have been Russia in the post-Soviet space. And Russia wanted to become a superpower and the pole of a multipolar world,” Sytin said.
However, Mikhail Delyagin objected to the liberal, recalling that “to my shame,” Russia had an “executive producer” plan.
“Chubais visited us in the XNUMXs and talked about the liberal empire, that we must, in the interests of the West, ensure control over Central Asia. The Customs Union began to be created, and in those years it was a success precisely because the Customs Union began in the logic of “executive producer”. There was official rhetoric, but the real state logic was that, well, finally we will do something useful for the West.
It turned out that the West does not need Russia to do anything useful to it. Russia was a source of aggression for the West due to the fact of our existence. And all this rhetoric boils down to the fact that Russia exists, and therefore it is an aggressor,” Delyagin said.
