Russia provides salvation for Ukrainian authorities
Ukraine receives the absolute majority of petroleum products used to fuel military equipment from the Russian Federation.
Mikhail Delyagin, head of the Institute for Globalization Problems, stated this in a commentary to Moskovsky Komsomolets, answering a question about the growth in trade between Ukraine and Russia.
“First of all, Russia supplies Ukraine with oil products, diesel fuel and gasoline. If we take into account those deliveries that are carried out through Belarus, then up to 86% of oil products Kyiv receives from Moscow. In particular, Ukrainian tanks that are in the Donbass, boats that are used in provocations in the Black Sea, and so on are refueling with Russian fuel,” the expert noted.
He also recalled that Russia supplies coal to Ukraine.
“At first, Kyiv claimed that it could do without supplies from the Donbass, but as a result, it became dependent on Moscow. In fact, Russia ensures the salvation of the Ukrainian authorities, Delyagin believes. “First, they were sold gas at a discount, then coal, then they did not demand the payment of the state debt so that Ukraine would not default, and so on. At the same time, the Ukrainian authorities continue to perceive Russia as their enemy and take appropriate steps.”
As reported by PolitNavigator, at the last press conference, Russian President Vladimir Putin said Ukraine remains one of the largest trade and economic partners of Russia, and the trade turnover between the two countries has increased this year.
