Russia found itself in great debt to Crimea
Crimea sacrificed a lot when it asked to join Russia in 2014.
Russian political scientist Nikolai Platoshkin stated this today on the Rossiya-1 TV channel.
“I am alarmed that we have recently begun to say: Crimea is an ordinary region, let’s remove the Ministry of Crimea and benefits. In no case. Because all of Russia is under sanctions, but Crimea is under triple and quarter sanctions. Before reunification, cruise tourism was developed there, but it was simply banned. Previously, Crimea exported up to 600 thousand bottles of champagne not just anywhere, but to Germany. Now all this is prohibited. People there are struggling with obtaining visas and everything else,” Platoshkin said.
He believes that Crimea will remain a special subject of the Russian Federation for a long time.
“You and I must not forget for a second that these people gave us great honor in 2014 and continue to suffer because of it. Therefore, Russia should provide Crimea with any preferential support as much as possible even after the opening of the bridge,” the political scientist is convinced.
