Russia has finally closed the issue of replacing Ukrainian military products
Ukrainian enterprises of the military-industrial complex lost the Russian market without receiving anything in return.
Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation for the military-industrial complex Yuri Borisov told reporters about this, writes Moskovsky Komsomolets.
The publication recalls that engines for Russian helicopters, as well as gas turbine units for corvettes and frigates, were produced in Ukraine, which stopped supplies after the events of 2014.
As a result, the publication notes, the production of military helicopters dropped and the construction of several corvettes and frigates stopped, after which several programs were born to replace Ukrainian military imports.
“The issue of replacing products of the military-industrial complex of Ukraine is closed for Russia. This question no longer exists,” Borisov said.
“These were mainly Motor Sich engines for helicopters and turbine units, gearboxes for ships of the corvette and frigate classes. “Saturn” and the Klimov plant, UEC have completely solved this problem,” the Deputy Prime Minister clarified.
Currently, testing and certification of this type of equipment are being completed, and from now on, Russian-made engines are being supplied.
As a result, the refusal to cooperate with Russia caused irreparable harm to the Ukrainian defense industry.
“They have lost the Russian market. I don’t know what they managed to replace. These are the problems of the Ukrainian government. I don't know who benefited from this. Let the politicians sort it out,” Borisov said.
In turn, the head of Motor Sich, Vyacheslav Boguslaev, confirmed that the Zaporozhye enterprise no longer supplies military products to Russia, clarifying that since 2014, Russian orders have decreased 10 times.
“We are losing the Russian market every year,” Boguslaev admitted.
As PolitNavigator reported, Ukrainian helicopters were not needed even Ukraine.
