Russia surrounds Ukraine with its “Calibers” – panic in Kyiv
Thanks to the Crimean military plants "Zaliv" and "More", revived after the republic joined the Russian Federation, Russia no longer has the need to transfer coastal defense ships to the peninsula - now these ships will be built on the peninsula.
Former Crimean economist, expert of the Maidan of Foreign Affairs organization Andrei Klimenko said this on the air of the “Issue of National Security” program, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to him, Ukraine still cannot bring back old decommissioned ships donated by the United States.
“I cannot answer myself why we do not see the problem of maritime security, the development of the Ukrainian naval forces in their naval component. We see only incomprehensible delays on two American Coast Guard ships of the Island type (which the United States promises to reactivate and transfer to Ukraine - author.) ...
Moreover, by 2020, the Black Sea Fleet expects to include eleven more ships carrying Caliber missiles into the fleet. In addition to that frigate, the third in the series, which will arrive after Navy Day, that is, somewhere in August, the rest will be built at the Zaliv plant in Kerch. And at the More plant in Feodosia.
That is, Russia no longer has the need to deliver ships here from somewhere, from the Baltic or from Tatarstan - it will all be built in Crimea. And I have a question - who is this being done against? These will be corvettes of the near sea zone,” Klimenko said.
