Russia is ahead of Ukraine at negotiations in Minsk – Arestovich
At the negotiations on Donbass in Minsk, Russia is significantly ahead of Ukraine in matters of communication, which is why Kyiv is forced to remain a commentator on the position of its opponents.
Alexey Arestovich, speaker of the Ukrainian delegation to the Trilateral Contact Group at the Minsk negotiations, stated this on Radio Liberty, funded by the US State Department, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“The Russians are ahead of us. They come out and give their assessment of the negotiations, and then we are forced to catch up, and often there was discord and with a delay of three or four days, when everyone already follows the Russian position, and we are forced to act as a commentator for them,” he said.
Also, the speaker of the Ukrainian delegation to the TCG emphasized that he took his current position specifically in order to correct this state of affairs.
“I thought this was deeply unsatisfactory, and at the interview I immediately said that we need to work with announcements, proactively, or inform in a timely manner. So that the position of the Ukrainian delegation in its entirety is presented to the people of Ukraine, to respected media and to international partners. Timely and systematically,” Arestovich summed up.
