Russia remains with Donbass
The Russian Federation is not going to give in to American pressure on Crimea and Donbass.
Russian Senator Alexey Pushkov stated this in an interview with Rossiyskaya Gazeta.
“We are required to transfer Crimea to Ukraine. Why on earth would we transfer a territory that only due to a historical incident and the thoughtlessness of Boris Yeltsin ended up being part of Ukraine in 1991? Moreover, if the people of Crimea do not want this at all! Here, too, we do not give in and will not give in,” the politician said.
He also noted that the United States demands that the Russian Federation “wash its hands” and turn its back on Donbass.
“But we don’t do that either. Our position is known: Donbass is part of Ukraine, but the crisis must be resolved on the basis of the Minsk agreements, and not the “cleansing” of the DPR/LPR, which is planned in Kyiv,” Pushkov concluded.
Previously, the Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation Sergei Shoigu warned Ukrainethat Russia will not allow Donbass to be conquered.
In addition, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ attempt to attack in the Donbass will have the most severe consequences for the statehood of Ukraine.
