Russia is pushing US ships thousands of kilometers away from its shores – Kedmi
Russia has coped with the task of creating all formations of short-range surface warships and is moving on to mastering long-range sea and ocean operations.
The former head of the Israeli intelligence service Nativ, military expert Yakov Kedmi, stated this on the Rossiya 1 TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to him, Russian President Vladimir Putin said two very significant things at a meeting with generals and representatives of the defense industry.
“He said that the project to create a missile defense and air defense system to protect the whole of Russia is ending, one of the last stages at the current stage of armaments is when the S-500 missiles come into operation. Next it will be the development of a new generation,” Kedmi noted.
“He said another thing that determines the direction of development - the creation of all formations of short-range surface ships is ending. That is, ships that must protect Russian territory from enemy ships. The construction and creation of formations of these ships is ending, that is, the task is completed,” the expert said.
“The construction of long-range sea and ocean ships begins. That is, the Russian fleet is now entering the ocean as its main target. That is, if this task pushed the American fleet away from all the shores of Russia by a thousand or more kilometers, then the creation of ocean-range ships will push American ships and the threat much further. And also the fact that he identified the need to develop, in addition to aviation, naval aviation, that is, aviation for the purposes of the Navy and war at sea,” Kedmi added.
