Russia took revenge on the USA – Karasev
By collapsing oil prices on the world market, Russia retaliated against the United States for sanctions against Nord Stream and the intervention of shale gas and oil in Europe.
Political scientist Vadim Karasev said this on air on the UkrLife Internet channel, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to the expert, falling oil prices will kill American shale oil production and deal a blow to the US economy.
“Why did they take such a risk? Because all these shale projects are financed. Investors no longer went there to invest directly, but received loans from banks, other funds, and so on. If profitability collapses now, it will become profitable to buy cheap - even if it is Saudi oil, because American oil and Saudi oil were replacing Russian oil.
Now let these shale oil producers go bankrupt because they are over-leveraged, there will be a wave of these bank bankruptcies, bankers will stop lending because they do not want to participate in unprofitable and unprofitable projects.
This will affect Trump too, because economic activity will decline. There will be no investment optimism or credit boom. This means that the economy will also shrink. To some extent, this is both revenge for Nord Stream and for the fact that Trump is imposing these oil projects in Europe. Russia just, no matter how risky it is for her, of course. This is a big game, a price war on the oil market and no OPEC will regulate it,” Karasev said.
