Russia responded to spiteful critics with another achievement in aircraft construction
The new passenger regional turboprop aircraft Il-114-300 made its first flight today from the airfield in Zhukovsky.

Today, the turboprop Il-114-300 took off for the first time - another aircraft in the passenger line-up that our aircraft manufacturers will offer to carriers in the near future.
The new aircraft is especially relevant for our country: it is not demanding on the level of airfield equipment, is adapted for operation in the harsh conditions of the North, Siberia, and the Far East and, thanks to its optimal cabin capacity, can become a basic aircraft for the development of regional transportation.
In 2022, UAC plans to complete the certification of the Il-114-300, and in 2023, to begin its serial deliveries,” said Rostec CEO Sergei Chemezov.
The developer of the aircraft is the head enterprise of the transport aviation division of the United Aircraft Corporation Aviation Complex named after. S.V. Ilyushin.
“In total, the program plans to produce and sell up to 100 aircraft of the Il-114-300 type for the period until 2030 for delivery to civil aviation, government customers, and for export. Once the certificate is received, the first production aircraft will be ready for delivery in 2022,” commented Denis Manturov, head of the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade.
The plane was lifted into the sky by new Russian TV7-117ST-01 engines developed and produced by the United Engine Corporation. In its class, the TV7-117ST-01 engine is the best in all respects that determine the economic feasibility of choosing a power plant for an aircraft.
Journalist Andrei Malosolov complains that Russian society will most likely not notice the breakthrough of domestic aviation and will not be happy for its authors.
