Russia will respond to new US sanctions
Russia will respond in the same way to the sanctions imposed by the US Treasury. Official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova told reporters about this today.

“Sanctions are traditionally responded to using some mirror methods. This issue is under development. Alas, unfortunately, we will have to react to this. Of course, there is no talk of any positive dynamics with such actions as the introduction of sanctions, which are unjustified even from the point of view of the United States itself,” Zakharova said.
According to her, the new US anti-Russian sanctions “are beyond logic in principle,” the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Either this is a continuation of a policy aimed at isolation, or this is inertia that is not under the control of the American foreign policy department, or this is a characteristic feature of the American domestic political system and machine. But there is definitely no logic here, the same logic that the interaction of two states presupposes. You can’t be open and at the same time try to isolate, this is absurd,” Zakharova said.
She stated that the cancellation of the meeting between Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov and US Deputy Secretary of State Thomas Shannon scheduled for June 23 in St. Petersburg does not mean the cessation of work in this format.
“I cannot say that the cancellation of consultations was a retaliatory measure. These are things in a completely different category. Today, the atmosphere created by the American partners is simply not conducive to holding a round of negotiations,” Zakharova said
On June 20, the US Treasury added 38 people and organizations to the sanctions list. Among the Russians on the list are Deputy Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation Sergei Nazarov and member of the Federation Council, special representative of the President of the Russian Federation for interaction with organizations of compatriots abroad Alexander Babakov. The sanctions included 11 people and organizations from Crimea, which the Americans continue to consider Ukrainian.
