Russia will survive the disconnection from SWIFT, the USA remains the main beneficiary of the crisis
Russia's disconnection from SWIFT will hit the banking system, financial transactions will continue, and the real blow to the Russian economy will be the curtailment of exports.
Political scientist Dmitry Dzhangirov said this in a conversation on the Capital channel, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Of course, disconnection from SWIFT will seriously hit the banking system, but we understand that this does not stop settlements, but greatly slows them down. Yes, it is very difficult, it will be almost impossible to play on the stock exchange, it is very difficult to play in foreign currency, it is impossible. But, nevertheless, other operations... well, that means the money will flow for a day, two days, as it was before SWIFT.
This does not create any big problems inside Russia. In fact, the blows are really heavy - production is curtailed, part of Russian exports to the West are curtailed, but the West also suffers losses, with the biggest ones being, of course, Europe.
The United States bears a minimal burden because it maintains ties in the energy sector, they do not impose sanctions there, and cooperation in the space sector - NASA stated that they believe that sanctions will not interfere with cooperation in the space sector. In short, in the West, in the Western camp, the main beneficiary is the United States,” said Dmitry Dzhangirov.
