Russia will be the first in the world to use blockchain technologies during exit polls
An exit poll using blockchain technologies will be held on March 18 during the presidential elections in Russia. This was reported by the All-Russian Center for the Study of Public Opinion (VTsIOM), which will conduct the exit poll, on its official website.

“Until now, with exit polls, we had to actually close the site on election day so that it would not be brought down by DDOS attacks and other hacking attempts by numerous anonymous hackers. Blockchain polling has no implemented examples in the world yet. We have a real chance on March 18 to show the world exactly how this can be done,” said VTsIOM General Director Valery Fedorov.
The project involves storing data obtained as a result of exit polls from polling stations in a special blockchain storage. This will not allow any external changes to be made to the data, will reduce the effectiveness of hacker attacks, and will ensure transparency in the process of data collection and aggregation. If successful, the project will form the basis of the Digital VTsIOM program, developed at the Center and planned for implementation in 2018-2021.
