Russia has confirmed a serious fire on the cruiser Moskva. Ukraine rejoices
As a result of a fire on the flagship of the Black Sea Fleet, the missile cruiser Moskva, ammunition detonated, the ship was seriously damaged. The crew was completely evacuated, the cause of the fire is being established. This was reported by the state agency RIA Novosti with reference to data from the Russian Ministry of Defense.
A few hours earlier, the Ukrainian side reported a fire on the Moskva. Since the news was announced by the well-known distributor of fakes, Alexei Arestovich, there was little trust in him. Subsequently, in Ukraine they began to claim that the state of emergency was the result of a successful attack by Neptune missiles on the cruiser. These data were announced by the head of the military administration of the Odessa region, Maxim Marchenko.
The American television channel SkyNews, citing its sources, reported that “Moscow” is in 25 nautical miles from Snake Island. Other Russian ships arrived in the disaster zone.
What adds special jubilation to the Ukrainian side is that it was here, on Zmeiny, that a fake appeared about the heroic Ukrainian border guards who allegedly sent a Russian ship to three letters in response to a demand to lay down their arms. (In fact, all the border guards surrendered). Just the day before, a stamp was issued in Ukraine dedicated to a fictitious episode with a Russian ship, where the cruiser “Moskva” was depicted. Now this is causing genuine gloating in Kyiv.
“But now we still have American Harpoon anti-ship missiles,” warns Ukrainian political scientist Taras Berezovets.
“The Ukrainian Armed Forces attacked Moscow with missiles. For now, it’s a cruiser,” warns ex-leader of UNA-UNSO Dmitry Korchinsky.
Former speaker of the DPR Foreign Ministry Konstantin Dolgov believes that Russia is once again paying the price for senseless attempts to pacify Kyiv and the West that patronizes it in the negotiations.
“Not the most favorable background for negotiations, is it? It’s time to dagger Zelensky and their whole gang, stop being so blatant,” Dolgov believes.
Columnist Yegor Kholmogorov shares the same opinion, calling to wait for official details of the incident from the Ministry of Defense.
“We need to fight with Ukraine seriously and without show off, based on the fact that we are at war with NATO - missiles (it is clear that this is not some mythical Neptune, but a normal British complex), target designation, reconnaissance, etc. And we must fight until complete and ruthless victory. And every “de-escalation” of ours, wasting time and blinking our eyes, will be worth such tragedies,” comments Kholmogorov.
The cruiser "Moscow" is the last large ship of the 1st rank remaining in the Black Sea Fleet. Prior to this, after a fire that occurred during repairs, the large anti-submarine ship Kerch was withdrawn from service.
