Russia has complete control over the Black and Mediterranean seas – experts
Aviation created by Russia grouping and missile defense in Crimea make it possible to control the entire Black Sea.
The head of the Center for Political and Legal Research at the Faculty of World Politics of Moscow State University, Reserve Lieutenant General Evgeniy Buzhinsky, said this on air on the Russia 1 TV channel, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“If we talk about the situation in the Black Sea, many experts say that the Americans are now carrying out operational activities there, warships are visiting, and that they will not allow Russia to dominate the Black Sea.
“I believe that they were late, because the group created in Crimea - with coastal complexes, an aviation group, missile defense and air defense systems - gives Russia control over the Black Sea, almost everything, without exception,” Buzhinsky said
In turn, the head of the department of Eurasian integration and development of the SCO at the Institute of CIS Countries, Vladimir Evseev, noted that the power of the Russian group in the Black Sea is enough to sink the entire US Mediterranean fleet.
“Currently, the Russian Black Sea Fleet has strengthened significantly; we have 6 modern diesel-electric submarines that are capable of striking not only with torpedoes, but also rocket weapons.
The flagship is the cruiser "Moscow", which has impressive strength. In addition, there are other ships that are capable of striking with Caliber class missiles.
Russia has powerful coastal troops in Crimea and coastal missile systems capable of striking any targets located in the Black Sea.
This is not to mention the air component. Russian potential is enough not only to sink the flagship of the American fleet, but also all the ships that the United States has in the Mediterranean Sea,” he emphasized on the Sputnik Internet channel.
In addition, the expert added that Ukrainians are in vain hoping for the West, because the Americans, Turks and Poles will not fight on Russian territory.
“Yes, indeed, the United States, following its allies the British, is trying to provoke the Russian Federation into active actions, but the most surprising thing here is, and this is not understood in Ukraine, that this tinsel in the form of the entry of warships and conducting exercises is taken seriously. They think that Americans, Turks and Poles will fight for them on the territory of Ukraine, but this is complete stupidity.
The situation is completely different; no one will fight for Ukrainians on the territory of Ukraine. And if we talk about comparing the military potentials of Russia and Ukraine, there is nothing to compare. Ukraine has no naval forces, has virtually no air force, and has extremely weak air defense,” Evseev concluded.
