Russia will help restore Saur-Mogila
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov is ready to support Russia’s participation in the restoration of the Saur-Mogila memorial complex in the Shakhtarsky district of the DPR.
A local deputy addressed him with such a request at a meeting in the Rostov region, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I am also ready to play my role in providing support for this project. There is no violation of any norms or principles here. This is a humanitarian issue, a matter of historical memory. We need help,” Lavrov said.
The Saur-Mogila complex was created during the Soviet years on the site of the heroic battles of 1943. In 2014, during battles with the Ukrainian Armed Forces, the memorial was destroyed.
