The documents were signed today in Goa following negotiations between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Putin recalled that India has already launched production of Su-30MKI fighters, T-90 tanks, anti-ship missiles, etc. “The plans are to start assembling multi-purpose helicopters and military frigates in India,” said the Russian President.
In addition, the leaders of Russia and India launched the laying of the third and fourth power units of the Kudnkulam NPP. As Putin said, Russia and India are working on agreements on the construction of units 5 and 6 of the nuclear power plant. The program of the current BRICS summit also includes the launch of power unit number two.
In December 2014, Putin and Modi outlined plans to build a total of 12 Russian-designed power units in India over 20 years. The project is being implemented with funds provided by Russia: the state loan amounts to $3,4 billion.
