“Generation is needed. The forecasts that we made and have now adjusted show that there is a very serious increase in consumption in Crimea,” the Kommersant newspaper quotes Deputy Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation Vyacheslav Kravchenko.
The newspaper clarifies that the maximum consumption in Crimea in January reached 1427 MW. Now (taking into account solar, wind and mobile generation transferred to Crimea in 2014), the total capacity of the peninsula’s stations is only 920 MW.
Crimea receives up to 800 MW via the energy bridge across the Kerch Strait.
