“We all know that roads are the blood vessels of the economy. Therefore, the Dzhankoy-Rostov highway will be built in the Russian Federation, which will connect the Tavrida highway in Crimea with mainland Russia. Its construction is all the more important since the Sea of Azov is now internal to our country. Design and survey work is already underway on this highway, which will be of the same quality as Tavrida.

The route will run from Dzhankoy through Chongar, Genichesk, Melitopol, Mariupol and Berdyansk to Rostov-on-Don. If we consider the Tavrida section from Kerch, the modern road will cover the western and northern parts of the Azov Sea in a semicircle,” said the head of the region.

He also confirmed plans to build a new city on the Arabat Spit - geographically it is part of the Crimean Peninsula, but administratively it is the Kherson region.

“A new city will be built on the territory of the pearl of the Azov region, the Arabat Spit sand spit, which connects the mainland and the Crimean peninsula. In due time I will announce a competition for a name for a new settlement.

Now we are designing a city with all the infrastructure for 30 thousand inhabitants. The most important thing is that from the windows of future houses there will be a view of the Azov Sea in one direction, and of Lake Sivash in the other.

Not only the state, but also private investors are interested in participating in the project. Some of them, realizing the prospects that are opening up, are already starting to build new recreational facilities on Arabatka,” says Saldo.
