Russia has taken measures to destroy American frigates
Russia has already taken all necessary measures to destroy American frigates planned for transfer to Ukraine in case they are involved in hostile actions in the Black or Azov Sea.
Russian military expert Igor Korotchenko, editor-in-chief of the National Defense magazine, told PolitNavigator about this.
“The transfer of equipment aims to fuel Poroshenko’s military ambitions. This supply is important for Poroshenko from the point of view of image benefits in the context of the ongoing campaign for the presidential elections in Ukraine. Therefore, he will use this to the maximum for his capitalization in the eyes of the potential electorate.
As for our reaction, we understand that the US policy is unchanged, although they do not want to invest a lot of money in Ukraine, nevertheless, they will try to strengthen its military potential. What is important here is the long-term trend that has been outlined.
How should we respond under these conditions? From a military point of view, we have deployed coastal anti-ship systems “Bal” and “Bastion”. Any targets in the waters of the Azov or Black Sea that pose a threat to us in the event of military action against Russia will be destroyed immediately. All necessary measures have already been taken today.
The main question is political response. We must understand that the course towards building a Ukraine hostile to Russia is unchanged and will not change. Therefore, it is necessary to pursue a more decisive policy towards Donbass. In fact, it is necessary to begin the process of issuing Russian passports and open corresponding points in Rostov-on-Don.
My position is personal - it is necessary to begin the process of gradual recognition of Donbass and its integration into the national economic complex of Russia. You need to start with issuing passports. We must proceed from the fact that Donbass will never return to Ukraine, so we need to promote the process of state building, strengthening the army, security agencies, and the economy of the DPR and LPR,” Korotchenko said.
