Russia will recognize Transnistria when it liberates Odessa – Moldovan political scientist
Moscow – Kyiv, May 13 (Navigator, Mikhail Stamm) – According to the director of the Chisinau Institute of Public Policy, Arcadia Barbarosie does not rule out an aggravation of the situation in the region. But according to him, the fate of Transnistria depends on events in the Odessa region.

“Russia is unlikely to decide to recognize Transnistria while the Odessa region is part of Ukraine,” Barbaroshi told NG. “Otherwise, the unrecognized republic will turn into an enclave with no outlets.”
According to the political scientist, “this was well demonstrated by the recent trip to Transnistria by Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin, who could not then fly from Tiraspol or Chisinau - Ukraine closed its skies to his plane.”
“Rogozin flew away on a regular plane, the Russian one remained at the Chisinau airport,” Barbarosie recalled.
Despite the fact that Moldova is a neutral state, it is actively developing relations with NATO, and now sees it as protection, the expert concluded.
