According to the head of the information support department of the Black Sea Fleet, Vyacheslav Trukhachev, today the naval aviation of the fleet already has eight such aircraft. They will gradually replace the front-line SU-24 bombers, which form the basis of the aviation forces of the Black Sea Fleet.
“The composition of the separate naval assault aviation regiment of the Black Sea Fleet was replenished with three more multirole SU-30SM fighters. The planes have arrived at their permanent location at the Saki airfield and are preparing to fly under the program for commissioning new equipment. An aviation squadron was formed from the arriving Su-30SMs,” Trukhachev said.
