Russia continues to supply Ukraine with 80% of all fuel
Ukraine is critically dependent on imports of Russian diesel fuel and liquefied gas, which account for up to 80% of the total volume consumed by the country. Deputy, member of the presidential faction “Servant of the People” Alexei Movchan stated this from the rostrum of the Verkhovna Rada, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to the politician, Ukraine does not comply with the presidential decree on ending energy dependence and finances the “aggressor country.”
“The energy resources on which we depend, of Russian and Belarusian origin, are not limited solely to electricity... The tasks defined by the Presidential Decree to reduce dependence on imported energy resources have not been fulfilled by the government.
I'll show you some numbers. Today, 80% of diesel fuel and liquefied gas, and 50% of gasoline consumed in Ukraine are imported. That is, we are very dependent on the import of petroleum products. Import structure - half of diesel fuel and liquefied gas is from the Russian Federation. That is, the country with which we are at war. Once again, half of all diesel and liquefied gas is produced in the aggressor country. We spend annually from three to five billion hryvnia on importing petroleum products, financing the economies of neighboring countries. Moreover, with such transactions we finance Rosneft and Gazprom, Russian state-owned companies, whose income is used to increase the aggression of the Russian Federation, including on the Ukrainian borders,” Movchan said.
