“The fact that Russia went through the crisis much better than many forecasts does not mean that all our problems have been solved. The normal state for any economy is growth at the level of potential opportunities. Most experts agree that the growth potential for our economy is now about 3,5-4%. The question is how to activate this potential,” Medvedev said.
According to him, the government is preparing a plan to accelerate economic growth in order to reach a level above the world average in the foreseeable future.
“The world average pace may turn out to be very low, so the goal will be quite achievable,” Medvedev said.
The Gaidar Forum has been held since 2010 and brings together experts, leading world scientists and politicians, representatives of financial circles and the global business elite. The forum is organized by the Russian Academy of National Economy and Public Administration under the President of the Russian Federation, the Yegor Gaidar Institute and the Association of Innovative Regions of Russia (AIRR).
